After recording and editing hundreds of shows over her career, Meika Grimm now officially a co-producer of one!
Here’s what she has to say about it:
“I’m super excited to announce the launch of a project that I am so very honored to be a part of. Aside from helping produce it, I also recorded and edited it, and created the theme song. Jack Grimm created the logo and built the website.
This show was the brainchild of Lindsey Deaton, a wonderful supporter and friend, and she also happens to be the Commissioner of Arts and Cultural Affairs for the city of West Hollywood. It is being released through the TableCakes network.
The idea was to provide a platform for trans people to share their stories without feeling like there was anything that they couldn’t talk about regarding the trans experience. Another amazing aspect of the show was that the host and network both felt that it was super important for all aspects of production to be completed exclusively by trans people, because they understood the issues and discrimination that trans people face regarding employment and wanted to be proactive in providing more opportunities and resources to the community.
The second one just released yesterday, with new episodes coming every Thursday. Please give it a listen if you’ve ever wanted to learn more about the trans experience, and a follow and a review if you really want to help out. You can find it anywhere that you listen to podcasts.”
